One of the toughest transitions to pull off in this issue was the move from child to adult Anika in the middle of the page.  The script read:

CLOSE UP OF ANIKA.  SHE SMILES SWEETLY, ACCEPTING HIS WORDS IN A WAY ONLY A CHILD CAN.

TREY(V.O.)
It wasn’t meant to be a lie

END FLASHBACK CUT TO:

EXT. STATUE OF TEJUMIN — NIGHT

MATCH CUT TO THE ADULT ANIKA.  FEAR AND HORROR PLAY ACROSS HER FEATURES.

TREY(V.O.)
I had to lie about so many other things.

TREY(V.O.)
That?
(beat)
I wanted that to be true.

Sometimes, the artist me hates the writer me very, very much.

I came pretty close.  Not perfect, but close.

Oh, and I really do love her smile.
